Forget Miami’s Winter Music Conference, the real party last night was in Tallahassee, led by a wild card billionaire with money to burn. The Governor, we mean. Hundreds of people rode up to the Florida state capitol to support the budget cuts or oppose them on the opening day of the state Legislature. Tea parties, Republican parties and Progressive parties are currently rocking that little southern city. From what we hear about the budget proposals, this party is just getting started. Let’s Talk About It’s own Subhash Kateel will call the show tonight with a live, on location, report from the streets of Tally.

Then the party continues…

After we celebrated with tens of thousands of women across the world who gathered together for yesterday’s International Women’s Day, we looked around at women’s health and safety right here in the U.S. All over the country, there are bills trying to redefine rape, criminalize miscarriages, cut funding for women’s health care and child care. Anti-abortion groups are targeting women of color in big money ad campaigns across the U.S. We’ll talk to Tonya Williams who is one of the leaders of the Reproductive Justice movement from Atlanta-based SPARK. Oh, yes, it’s ladies night.

Plus, we’ll hear from the folks behind this weekend’s party for a cause… Dance for Haiti, welcome special studio guest, Courtenay Strickland and hear from you, our listeners. Call us and let us know what you think at (305) 541-2350.
